Karen Hatheway

Hello! My name is Karen, but my friends sometimes call me Batwayne. I was given the nickname because of my love of Batman.

 

My whole life I've been playing video games and watching cartoons. When I was a kid, I learned how to draw by drawing my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! and DragonBall Z characters on my basement floor with chalk. As I got older I got into reading manga, and therefore got more and more into drawing. I devloped my own style and started creating my own characters, while still drawing some favourites from games and anime.

 

The games, anime and manga slowed down a bit during highschool, but picked up again in college, with music and comic books added to the list of interests. Now I'm trying out different drawing styles and doing 3D models of some of my favourite comic book characters in my free time. I also enjoy doing photography and making plushies (stuffed dolls) and hand drawn stickers of comic characters. :]
